I loved shooting this video (thanks to the amazing crew at Villa House Pictures) in this gorgeous loft apartment in East Nashville.
This song really just started one day, sitting on the couch with my guitar, looking out the window and singing the first thing that felt true.
Months upon months upon months passed, and I decided to include "Gotta Have You" on my latest album, Daydream. It has become one of my favorite recorded songs that I've done, and I'm delighted to have my first official music video (ever) to this little ditty. Funny to think it began as a few lines and over time it became a song, which became a recorded song, which became a music video. I am so grateful I live a life where that process gets to be possible.
Thank you for caring about it, for taking a look and a listen. I know it's a lot of Jillian. That part is a little hard for me to swallow. But then I pretend I am a normal person watching a normal music video and I feel a tiny bit less odd about the three minutes and twenty-four seconds of me part. I'm doing that thing I do where I make 8798 disclaimers. It's just a music video. It's just a song. But I really do hope, in even the smallness of this song, that it adds some brightness to your day.
